Suggestions What can be better, and how? Ideal Ways To Propose Change
We all have great ideas bubbling up from deep inside of us. Sometimes, we're just not sure how those ideas will be viewed or responded to. Will others consider what I have to say as helpful, insightful, or important? How can I explain myself so that they can see my idea from my unique point of view? What happens if they don't like my idea, and how will I handle criticism I haven't yet received? On Sparkledog Nation - every idea is worth us listening too, even if we can't implement it. We definitely want to hear what you have to say!
Suggestions
I. Tell us what your idea for improvement is. If it's a new idea or concept, let us know what this concept is. Give us a name, an idea, or a description so that we can accurately understand what it is you're trying to suggest for us. Include as much detail as possible. This is the most important part about really getting your idea or suggestion out there - the more details we have to work with, the better we can understand your unique idea. Try to let us know how you think this could improve the player experience. What are the positive benefits of the idea? What are some consequences, and are there ways that you think we could address those possible consequences?
II. Be open to feedback. Realize that we won't all see each other's ideas the same way. Some consequences to an idea of yours that are voiced by other players, shouldn't be easily dismissed. Be open to helpful feedback and build upon that feedback to help strengthen your original concept or idea. Whenever possible, collaborate with other players on their improvement concepts of your idea. We grow as a community together with teamwork.
III. Don't worry if your idea isn't implemented right away. All ideas are considered with a depth of seriousness. Not all ideas or concepts may work with the original intent and design of the site. Ideas that may require specialized skillsets (coding, etc) may require more time to have the tools or resources to implement. Not all ideas may fully work or be truly compatible with the layout of the site. Ideas don't get an indefinite approval or rejection letter. Ideas are implemented to improve player experience, and ability to implement the ideas. They are not implemented based on length of service with the site, privileges, or other reasons inconsistent with the players' overall experience.
Feedback.
I. Do not simply disagree with an idea. Players are encouraged to provide positive feedback to any and all ideas that are posted for review. Help other players expand on improvement ideas. When giving other players feedback, suggest boththe parts of the idea that you find would work and the parts of the idea that you find wouldn't work. Ask questions about points of an idea that aren't very clear. Help other players provide clarity and insight to their ideas by asking questions you feel should be answered to an addressed.
II. Consider ideas whether or not they affect your player experience. Try not to discourage an idea simply because you do not see value in the idea for your own, unique player experience. Consider if the idea will enhance overall player experience, and how. Address the idea from the fresh perspective of how it may impact the player community. List the positive experiences and negative experiences the player community may experience with the ideas. Be apart of the team building experience on ideas for the site, to truly help the site grow and improve on the player experience.
